Rhys is One!

So Rhys is one. Its unbelievable and scary and wonderful.

He is in love with Yo Gabba Gabba!, I decided to run with that theme for his birthday.

Wall decorations were fairly simple. Just a made simple bunting made from paper triangles and string, we cut letters from construction paper, and printed a few characters from the download section on Nick Jr..

We hung several balloons from the ceiling over the table. Thanks Pinterest!

Sorry for the bad lighting in the picture. My iPhone pics aren't the greatest. Some streamers and another bunting made from construction paper tied it all together.

Muno licorice bundles were an easy and cute addition to the snacks. They were easy to make. I just printed a sheet of muno faces and wrapped them around six pieces of licorice.

We had apple slices, rice krispy treats, and animal crackers dipped in melted chocolate and then covered in sprinkles, crushed almonds, peanuts, or chocolate chips.

His cakes were my favorite part, though. They were made by our talented and generous friends, Jamie and Dan Muchler! Rhys loved them, too. He loved them so much he ate them face first:

All in all, it was a success. Rhys gave a big, frosting covered thumbs up!
